Vitamin K comprises a group of fat-soluble compounds that play an important role in blood clotting and contribute to cardiovascular and bone health. There are two main forms, vitamin K1, found in green leafy vegetables, and vitamin K2 (menaquinones) found in some animal-based and fermented foods and also produced by the body.

We’re pleased to offer a new IANZ-accredited Vitamin K2 analysis at our Auckland Food Laboratory for testing infant / paediatric and adult nutritional products, food and pharmaceuticals. The analysis reports on the vitamin K2 menaquinones, cis, trans and total MK-4 and MK-7, and is the only such test available in New Zealand.

The new test further adds to AsureQuality’s extensive range of analyses available for water-soluble and fat-soluble vitamins and other nutrients, supporting manufacturers of nutraceuticals and other products to make specialist claims for functional ingredients, or food manufacturers to meet labelling requirements for nutritional claims.
